Geissberger Observatory, Panorama

Astronomy Nights

Approximately once per semester, the Geissberger Observatory hosts an astronomy night at the SMC Campus Observatory Pad. Below are directions and details. We can only reliably announce astronomy nights about four days in advance. Announcements are only distributed by private campus email lists.

Please note that for the astronomy nights we use the Stellarvue telescopes on the constellation of piers at the pad. The telescope in the dome is not used, and in fact it is only used to record data with a monochrome CMOS camera rather than for visual observing. See the equipment description for more information about the equipment in the dome.
